On August 20, Matthew E. White brings his “grand vision” (Pitchfork) to New York City for the very first time, playing the Mercury Lounge the day before the release of his debut album, ‘Big Inner’ (Spacebomb/Hometapes). This intimate performance will find Matthew joined by his band, built from key players in the Richmond, VA-based Spacebomb family: Cameron Ralston on bass, Pinson Chanselle on drums, Trey Pollard on pedal steel and piano, Scott Clark on percussion, and Gabe Churray on Rhodes and synths. This six-member powerhouse, led by Matthew on guitar and vocals, transforms the vast landscape of ‘Big Inner’ into a burning-hot, could-go-on-all-night kind of revelation.
